Specialized Testing
Please Note: a lab review with a provider is required for all tests.
Wellness Panel
Our wellness panel takes a comprehensive look at your body’s overall function. We look at insulin sensitivity, liver function, immune function, kidney function, iron levels, thyroid function, gluten sensitivity, inflammation, and urine using conventional methods. However, we interpret these using optimal lab values rather than standard reference values, which are just based on what is common in the general population and not what is best for health.
Functional Medicine Lab Package
Our functional medicine lab package provides a comprehensive look at key areas of biologic function that are not typically measured using conventional labs. These include micronutrient status, gastrointestinal health, cardiovascular health, and hormonal health. This package includes:
NutrEval Test
The NutrEval test is a comprehensive look at nutritional imbalances and inadequacies. This test evaluates the functional need for antioxidants, B vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, amino acids, digestive support, and other select nutrients. Your omega-3, omega-6, and other omega and fat levels and ratios are checked, as well as toxic and nutritive elements, oxidative stress markers, amino acids, and organic acids.
GI Map
GI Map is a stool test which assesses your microbiome (gut bacteria) for overall diversity, health, and pathogens. It also measures digestive function in complementary ways to the NutrEval test.
CV Health
CV Health is a test that goes beyond measuring standard cholesterol, LDL, and HDL levels to actually measure lipid markers that truly assess your cardiac risk as well as insulin resistance and inflammatory markers. With this test, we can determine how significant the need is to reduce your cholesterol parameters, and how well your diet is truly suiting your body.
Hormone Health Panel
This panel measures levels of a variety of hormones contributing to optimal health. We check active levels of hormones as well as important hormone precursors. In men, a PSA is also included in this panel.
Other Available Tests
IgG Food Sensitivity Profile
The IgG food sensitivity profile measures IgG antibodies to 87 foods. This helps determines foods your body may be reacting to, which can contribute to symptoms such as autoimmune disease, fatigue, migraines, rashes, and more. This test is often used in conjunction with an elimination diet to truly determine which foods may be causing you problems and help us determine the diet that is optimal for your body.
Essential Estrogens Test
The Essential Estrogens test measures hormone metabolites in urine. The way estrogen is metabolized is influenced by your genetics and nutritional needs. Some estrogen metabolites contribute to disease risks, such as prostate and breast cancer, so ensuring these are optimal can go a long way towards risk reduction.
Toxin Profile
A toxin profile is a blood and urine test that looks at your overall toxic burden relating to exposure to multiple environmental toxins such as BPA and DDT. This test measures 43 toxins that can contribute to current health issues and future health risks.
SIBO Breath Test
A SIBO breath test can help determine whether symptoms of gas or bloating may be caused by bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine, which guides treatment in restoring gut health.
4-point Salivary Cortisol
For those with evidence of chronic stress, sleep disturbances, or other hormonal balances, a 4-point salivary cortisol can be useful. This test measures your cortisol levels throughout the day and can be used to determine nutrient needs as well as herbal support to help with stress and sleep.
Neurotransmitter Profile
We offer a neurotransmitter profile, which can help determine imbalances in key neurotransmitters such as serotonin and GABA. This can be useful for issues such as cognitive function, sleep challenges, and anxiety.
Heavy Metal Blood Panel and Mercury Tri-Test
For those with more advanced testing needs beyond the toxic elements checked in NutrEval, we also offer Quicksilver’s heavy metal blood panel and mercury tri-test. These tests help pinpoint areas of heavy metal toxicity that may require additional detox support.
Immune/Mold Panel
Our immune/mold panel looks at multiple measures of risks and dysfunction related to mold and other infectious agents.
Genetic Testing
In addition, we recommend genetics evaluations at IHM. 23andme will tell you your risk of celiac disease and apoE status (Alzheimer’s risk) as well as other health risks. We can then also run this data through a program to determine genetic differences you may have that mean you require extra nutritional support for optimal functioning.
