Our clinic, Integrative Health Matters (IHM) in Tyler, Texas, offers free weekly educational events for the community in their state-of-the-art kitchen and large classroom. Their class topics are centered on health, lifestyle, cooking, and the latest medical research.
When asked why IHM offers free events to the community, Business Manager Lauren Lowery says, “Seeing our patients finally find healing from issues that have plagued them for years motivates us and spurs us on to share with the community so others can experience healing.”
Functional medicine differs from traditional medicine in that, instead of prescribing a medication to treat solely symptoms, it uses a personalized treatment plan to address the root cause of the issue — resolving your symptoms and healing your entire body.
Medical Director Guy Danielson, MD, says, “We know functional medicine is the answer. We’ve seen it time and time again provide true healing. We want our community to experience this healing so we welcome everyone to our clinic for a glimpse of the hope functional medicine provides.”
Recent free events have covered topics such as neuropathy, chronic pain, healthy eating, and meditation.
Michael Smith, an attendee to a recent IHM event, says, “I have always come away from the IHM classes with a more in-depth understanding of the root causes of health issues and how to correct them. They actually demonstrate how to cook delicious and healthy meals and put the things they teach into practice. The people there are kind, friendly, generous with their time and realize that we are all different and need specialized attention.”
Integrative Health Matters is offering free events on neuropathy, chronic pain, thyroid conditions, yoga, meditation, and healthy eating during the second quarter.
Integrative Health Matters invites the East Texas community to attend their free events at 419 W SW Loop 323 #400, Tyler, TX 75701. Event listings can be found at www.ihm.life/events or on Integrative Health Matters’ Facebook page, facebook.com/IHMatters/.
